Thunder In The Sky

6/14/08

Today was the day of the air show at the Nampa Airport. Lil O was very excited for this he had been waiting all week. We knew the flying was going to start at noon and we had a plan of watching from our backyard, since we live practically across the street from the airport. We soon realized we couldn't see some of the small planes, so we decided to get on our bikes and go to the end of the street of our subdivision. I'm glad we did because we got a great view of the planes flying right over our heads. Our favorite was the red planes that would loop, do amazing tricks, and have smoke decorate the sky. The parachuters were pretty cool to! When the planes stopped flying and the motorcycles were doing tricks we went home for lunch. We started working on the sandbox again, when we noticed the planes started to fly again. We watched a little bit, but when we heard a weird loud noise we looked up to see and very very fast black fighter jet fly over our house. We quickly ran and got the camera to try and capture this plane. It would fly so fast that we would see it on one end of the yard and by the time it was leaving the other side we would finally hear it. It was amazing.

We captured a lot of shots, but not all of them turned out. Here are the best ones I could find and then we just zoomed in.

We found out that it was called a "Hunter Hawk" and Steve Appleton CEO of Micron was in it. After seeing this plane it was all of our favorites even though it was extremely loud.
